Best to fold the top of your bag to give it more stability, especially with the wind. Doesn't have to be as perfect as in the pic; even if it rips, it still works well. One fold should do it! Due to the weather forecast for Saturday, we have decided to postpone luminaries. Luminary Night will now take place on our rain date, Sunday, Dec 15th. 1. We will need volunteers for Sunday instead of Saturday for the same timeframe. If you are no longer avail to volunteer due to the date change, please update your status in the sign-up. If you are now free to volunteer because of the date change, please sign up; we'd love to have you!

Designated area per street within cul-du-sac by 69 and 68 Red Hill Road. Reference the street “board(s)” for # of luminary bags and candles per order.
NOTE: Sand is self serve by those picking up their orders. For neighbors that require special assistance, for set up and tear down, the sand can be packed into gallon-sized zip lock bags. One gallon-sized zip lock bag of sand will accommodate 3-5 luminaries. Reception / Coordination As neighbors begin to pick up their bags, these individuals will welcome neighbors and direct them to the Order Coordinators to help them locate their order and bring bags to their car as needed. We ask that these volunteers encourage neighbors to visit our donation table prior to picking up their orders and to make new or additional donations on behalf of our neighborhood to the Warren Township Police or Fire Department. Help monitor and direct cars as needed. Everyone should be able to get in and out to ensure safety when cars are backing up and pulling out. Special Support: Home Assistance Some of our neighbors (i.e. out of town or elderly) have expressed needing help setting up and tearing down their bags. Between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, bag assistants will drive to the location(s), set out the bags/luminary and light candles. At 9:30pm, all assisted houses should have their candles extinguished. This should be completed by 10pm. Clean up of bags could happen the next morning. We will coordinate this as needed. Order Distributor upon Pickup One volunteer per 3-5 streets, for a total of at least 5 coordinators at any given time. Coordinators will be grouped as follows:
SAFETY! As folks pick up their order, please advise folks to clean up any dry leaves around their candles, encourage them to place their kits on the street in front of their curb versus on their lawn. Upon pick up, Order Coordinators will cross the street name off of the board. Any NEW orders should be redirected to the New Order Volunteer, Carlos or Devin Almonte. Street Safety Check To ensure a fun and safe event, we ask folks to keep an eye out for any potential fire hazards and assist with any bags that could be better positioned. For example, if you see a luminary bag sitting near a pile of leaves, reposition or extinguish the candle. Or even better, help a neighbor out by guiding them with set up. Donation Table Oversee table to collect any donations for the Warren Township Police & Fire Department. These donations will be recorded and placed in the designated box. At 3:30, the donation volunteer will coordinate with Devin Almonte to provide a final tally of the total incremental donations provided for both the police and fire departments. These funds will be provided to the respective departments the following week. Tear Down Volunteer Area Extra set of hands to put away tables, chairs, street signs, supplies, and decorations at the Cul-du-sac Getting excited! Mailers are officially out! Now let's hope that our struggling post office actually delivers them (hahaha).
We've got about half of our neighborhood on our email distribution list. And we have a number of new neighbors this year. Keep spreading the word and talk to your neighbors and make sure they know what luminary night is all about! IDEAS:
We are passing on some ideas for this year that neighbors have passed on to us:
